Bright House Networks and the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey franchise teamed up to produce a program called the "Boldest of the Bay", the aim of which is to highlight police officers from the Tampa Bay, Fla., region.

A recent focus was on Tampa police Officer Natasha Stanek, a two-year sworn member among the Tampa police force. With TPD's cadre of 1100-plus members, being chosen and highlighted in the "Boldest of the Bay" spotlight is akin to a brief moment of fame, recognizing Tampa police officers for stellar performance and selfless service to the public.

Officer Stanek was recognized for "dutifully performing duties about the city", according to the Bright House Networks/Tampa Bay Lightning "Boldest of the Bay" website which showcases brief videos of each law enforcement officer selected.

Another recent "Boldest of the Bay" installment was Tampa police Detective Gary Garboski, a 23-year veteran policeman. Detective Garboski was noted for his "diligence in investigating cases" and many years of service, according to the Bright House Networks/Tampa Bay Lightning "Boldest of the Bay" site which showcases brief videos of each law enforcement officer selected.

The "Boldest of the Bay" concept joins the Tampa Police Department with two Tampa Bay businesses with respect to recognizing the city's police personnel, their myriad deeds, and unparalleled service to the community.

Released each week, the next installment of the "Boldest of the Bay" and its honoree are presented via the Tampa Police Department's Facebook page and the Tampa Bay Lightning's website.

Not limited to Tampa police officers, the "Boldest of the Bay" concept also recognizes TPD's brothers/sisters in the fire/rescue services, highlighting Tampa Bay area firefighters and paramedics. Moreover, the program also recognizes military personnel from the Tampa Bay region. Each selectee is honored at a Tampa Bay Lightning home game with accolades, and "treated to a night of courtesy by Grow Financial", according to the Tampa Bay Lightning website.
