Boise State Broncos defeat San Jose Spartans on Halloween 45/7

The Broncos are proving their claims that they are working on the details and improving their play. Their offense is showing much improvement with ball handling with only one fumble, which was the result of a sack, and no memorable bobbles. The one fumble however ended in a touchdown for the Spartans who played a hard game. The Spartan defense is their best asset and made the Broncos work hard for every yard.

The Broncos defense held strong as usual. They allowed the one unfortunate sack, but they also made some great plays. They forced two turnovers that lead to touchdowns. Kyle Wilson, who has had trouble moving the ball due to intense pressure, made a pick 6. It was good to see him breaking tackles again. Jeron Johnson was always in the right place making tackles and dashing hopes. Winston Veneble was also always in the middle of the action.

Special teams also showed improvement with no misses. It is fun to watch Austin Pettis score a touchdown and then setup the point after kick for Kyle Brotzman.

The Broncos are building more and more weapons as the season matures. Matt Kaiserman started and plowed through a large number or Spartans. We wonder if Doug Martin will go back to defense if Kaiserman can continue to excel in that position, although Martin did make the final touchdown with a few seconds to spare. Kirby Moore caught his first pass from his brother and made big play touchdown. This was only his second career reception. Chris Potter made a couple of receptions in heavy coverage.
