Bog Jacket Update (Photos)

While I was knitting on my bog jacket this afternoon, I realized I haven't updated anyone on the progress in almost two years! And that means it's been two years and I still haven't finished it! Yikes! I actually began the jacket in 2010, August to be exact. It was meant to be a knit-along with one of my knitting groups to celebrate Elizabeth Zimmerman's 100th birthday.

Well, life tends to get in the way, plus there's always another project to do instead of something for myself. I created a slideshow of the few pictures I have of the jacket's progress and realized I've only taken pictures in January of each year! If you read my article on my new year goals, then you'll know I really want to finish this jacket this year!

I guess the reason I've procrastinated (yes, I'm admitting to procrastination) is the entire jacket is done in the knit stitch. Plus it's 220 stitches across and it's like 500 rows or something. I've actually lost track! Right now, I'm at the sleeves, about three inches on the sleeves. I still have to come up and over if I understand the pattern correctly. The pattern has been hard to figure out, but friends have helped me for sure.

So here's my list of what is left: The sleeves! and then creating the sleeves by sewing them up, creating an I-cord, putting in a zipper and lining it. The last three probably aren't in order, but who cares right now, hmmm? But I think that's it. The dilemma I have now is yarn. I'm out of green (mostly because I used the green to make a matching hat) and I'm out of the varigated yarn and just about out of the purple. So when payday comes, I have to buy some yarn!

So here's to the next time when I write about my jacket, it'll be because I've either gotten a lot of progress completed or I'm done!
