Do you know what makes the difference in someone who works out but only receives low to average results verses someone who works out and receives phenomenal results, defying the odds of average training? It's as simple as pushing just a little bit more, training just a little bit harder and giving it just one more rep.
So what's the story behind this? Well, it starts with your attitude toward your workouts when you enter the gym. When you walk in and you are tired, not inspired and don't really have a plan, it is likely that training will not live up to its full potential. Without the inspiration to go a little harder, it's very easy to get on the treadmill or elliptical and not train the entire 30 minutes; or when you have the intention to push through 12 reps but decide to cut it short and quit at 8. What's actually happening, you are giving in to the moment, how tired you are, or how uninspired you are, instead of looking at the big picture. . . that is, what you want to create, your ultimate goal. Fixing this starts inside. You must go within and figure out what the actual goal is. If you are attempting to lose weight, you must be willing to make the extra effort to fight through your urge to give in. If your goal is strong enough and compelling enough, the fight, when mastered, will be well worth it.
It takes a certain type of person to be a bodybuilder. You hear the word "discipline" all of the time. It's not that bodybuilders have an easier time at going the extra mile than the average person, it's that they have created a vision, a goal or dream for their life and lifestyle and for many, through trial and error, they have come to discover that you must go above and beyond to see the light at the end of the long dark tunnel. Everyone goes through it. Bodybuilders are not immune to struggling through an exercise or even the desire to train at times. However, it's the purpose of the training and the extra reps along the way that will collectively make the ultimate difference in the changes that occur within the body. You simply have to make the decision to do whatever it takes, until....
