A lot of women when they hear the word bodybuilding they think of muscular looking physiques and nothing else. The number one thing most women worry about is gaining weight. The cool thing about bodybuilding is you are supposed to gain weight. Adding 10-20 pounds of muscle to your body will make you gain weight but you will look as if you lost 10-20 pounds. The art of bodybuilding is to eliminate body fat to accentuate body muscle. Bodybuilding is for all adults no matter how old you are. Believe it or not there are bodybuilders in their 70s. There are many different bodybuilding workouts but the key is to target each exterior muscle.
A few essential workouts for female bodybuilding:
Squats: from a standing position, bend the knees and hips to lower the torso then returning to the upright position.
Dead lifts: start with a barbell or dumbbells resting on the floor then lift with your legs to a standing position.
Bench press: start laying on your back, lower a barbell or dumbbell to the level of the chest, then push it back up until the arms are fully straight
Dips: use your arms to lower and raise you body
