Fitness is the one constant that never pulls way from its health benefits. You never hear about someone becoming ill or dying from being fit. There are no different forms of fitness that create health scares, at least, not if they are performed "without synthetic enhancements". When it comes to illnesses, there are more forms than you can name, and most of them can be triggered by some form of unhealthy lifestyle or choice.
As times change and society grows, people are becoming more and more health conscious. This may be due to the alarming number of sicknesses related to heart disease, obesity, and the list goes on and on. In fact, according to The Heart Disease Foundation, "heart disease is the number one cause of death in both men and women in the United States, claiming approximately one-million lives annually." According to Fox News, as of May, 2014, the nations obesity rate stands at 27.7%, which has increased, as in 2013, obesity was at 27.1%.
While it's true that aging is inevitable, poor health does not have to be. Sickness and disease do not have to be. Developing a strategy to put your body and health in a good place require sacrifice but when it means living longer, looking better and feeling better, it's well worth it.
Building muscle is a fantastic alternative to an unhealthy body and lifestyle. Not only does it improve the body's overall appearance, it strengthens and awakens the body, causing it to function at a new level of capacity. If you stop and think about it, you will find that when your body is healthy, you usually feel better mentally.
A great deal of "feeling" go into being unhealthy; however, people seem to miss the mark when it comes to seeing the correlation of the two. When you are sick, you don't say, "I am sick but I feel great." However, when you are well and healthy, usually, you will say, "I feel great!" The expression behind the feeling will usually match the feeling itself. Building muscle and exercising consistently raises the serotonin levels in the brain, which affects mood. The consistency of this activity will inevitably trigger the workings of the body's overall function and change everything that has failed thus far. You will experience less and less shortness of breath during exertion; you will feel less tired; and your body will actually start to feel alive again. Did you know that getting healthy will also lower your cholesterol, reduce the risk of strokes, osteoporosis, heart attacks, high blood pressure, depression, and can even reverse the symptoms and signs of diabetes. All of these benefits, all because you decided to create change.
Is it easy? Sometimes, it is, sometimes it's not. In fact, changing your lifestyle by creating muscle fitness can be very challenging. This is why you will have to find ways to discipline yourself and keep your focus on the big picture. Old habits die hard. If it's your norm to abuse your body with food, alcohol and the couch, making the transition physically may seem impossible. But its not if you first make the transition in your mind. You will have to change the way you view your lifestyle and then move toward the lifestyle you really want for yourself. It takes time to change your body. But look at it this way, time still passes if you choose to do nothing. So, make the decision to get fit and build your body, one muscle at a time.
