Body paint clothing

Body painting has been going on for quite some time now and many new artists are emerging.  Body painting artist, Robin Barcus is native to Chicago, IL.  She obtained her art degree from the Art Institute in Chicago, IL.  She proves that fashion is art.  You can visit her website Skin City Body Painting to view all of her work.

When people think of body painting, they may not necessarily think of painted clothing.  The body is a 3D canvas that really allows the artists to express themselves.  A great paint job will truly make the garment look realistic and wearable.

Painted outfits include swimsuits, sport jerseys, shirts, shorts, pants, lingerie, etc.  With creativity and imagination, the body can be completely transformed by talented painters.  In turn, it becomes a 360 degree piece of living art.

Fashion can be avant-garde and inspiration may come from anywhere.  Many fashion shows are now introducing body painted models.  Check out this video, Body Paint Fashion Show  2009.

Robin gets inspired from many different sources including paintings/art, people, home decor (wallpaper), etc.

The next time you think about fashion, try to think outside the box.  How does clothing inspire you?  How can you stand out from the crowd?  Read Body Paint Couture and find out what this blogger had to say on her blog, Fashion Statement.
