Body of mom found in trunk of car: 3-month old-baby found alone

The body found inside the trunk of a white, Mitsubishi Eclipse was that of Ebony Jackson and was confirmed Jan. 8 by St. Louis Metropolitan Police. Police stated that there was a gunshot wound to the back of her head during a press conference on Wednesday. On Tuesday morning, her vehicle was found in the 4400 block of Elmbank in North St. Louis. The three month old baby of Ms. Jackson's was found safe and sound last Friday morning at a Breckenridge Hills apartment complex.

Jackson had not been heard of since last Thursday and nobody knows for sure just how her baby ended up inside the apartment alone. Police officials are trying to locate anyone that might have spent time with Ebony right before she died. If you or someone you know have any information, you are asked to send it to the St. Louis chapter of CrimeStoppers.

The Oklahoma woman was visiting friends in East St. Louis. It has been revealed by some of her family members that Jackson had phoned a cousin in St. John and left a cell phone message stating she was going to be stopping by. However, she never arrived there.

Friends and family members began to put up flyers with Ebony's photo on them over the weekend hoping someone would recognize her and contact officials. The family members did reveal that the missing woman made a phone call to a friend saying she was in Fairview Heights with a friend, but she did not reveal the friend's name.

There were times that the family members felt that police did not show much interest in the case. The family spokesperson on Tuesday said that there had been some miscommunication between the family and police. A friend of Ebony's, Linda Lawson, pleaded for help to find her friend's killer.

“There’s someone out there who knows something about who these soul-less, callous person or persons,’ said Linda Lawson. “Please contact the police so they can know who did this.”

Police notified Jackson's parents on Tuesday that their daughter's body had been found. She was an only child. The baby is in the state's custody until a paternity test that was taken by a man that states he is the baby's father is complete.
