The body of a man in his late teens was found Wednesday in a creek near a Johns Creek middle school. And investigators are trying to determine what caused the man's death, but said there was no obvious signs of trauma to the body.
A couple walking their dog in the woods found the body about 4:15 p.m. in the creek about a quarter mile north of Taylor Road Middle School, according to Johns Creek police.
“He was face down in the water,” police spokesman Mr. Doug Nurse said. The body was trapped under a log, he said.
Investigators are trying to determine how long the body had been there. The department hasn’t had any missing person’s report, Mr. Nurse said.
The man has been tentatively identified since he was found with a wallet and backpack. However, officials are withholding his name because they have not notified next of kin.
Mr. Nurse described the man as being in his late teens.
The body has been turned over to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
