The body of a badly burned 10-year-old girl was found in the trash receptacle at Coventry Pointe Apartments in Atlanta. ABC News reported on the incident today, Nov. 2.
The girls father called 911 at 3:43 a.m. indicating that he was suicidal and that his 10-year-old daughter drank some sort of chemical and died. He said that her body was inside the apartment.
When officers arrived, the man was standing outside and he pointed to a trash can that was near the picnic tables. When law enforcement looked inside the trash can, they discovered the body of the badly burned 10-year-old girl. Even though the father said that she died after drinking some type of chemical, the cause of death has not been determined yet.
The names of the father and his daughter have not been released and they are treating it as a homicide. The father of the badly burned 10-year-old girl has not been arrested yet, but he was taken to police headquarters.
