Body found in Pleasanton

The body of a man was found yesterday at the Pleasanton Refuse Transfer Station located at 3110 Busch Road. The discovery was made by an employee that was on duty at the time.

Responding officers located the corpse amongst stacks of cardboard recyclables. At the present time, the Alameda County Crime lab is processing this matter in order to identify the deceased and notify his next of kin.

While the cause of death has yet to be determined, the preliminary investigation indicates that the death could have been accidental. More information is expected to be released within the next few days. It is also suspected that the deceased may have fallen asleep in the trash section of the refuse vehicle and was transported into the facility.
