Body found in Chattahoochee River; investigation continues

A boater called 911 this afternoon after he saw what he suspected was a human body. Authorities confirmed a body was just found, but no identification has been made yet, WSBTV reports.

According to the Cobb County Fire Department, the body was floating behind Six Flags Over Georgia, close to the banks. As news helicopters flew over the scene, an emergency crew was spotted near the scene, investigating the death. So far, police state that there is no indication that the death is related to an accident at the amusement park.

It's possible that the victim entered the river from upstream.

This marks the 2nd body found in the Chattahoochee River in this month alone. Just a few days earlier, the body of 57-year-old Gee Hee Kang was found floating in the river on the Gwinnett County side. Police are still investigating the accident, but are not releasing additional information at this time.
