I get a lot of questions regarding my success with Beachbody. I was fortunate enough to win the Beachbody Challenge $500 daily award for my results with P90X. But I didn't stop there. I also won the Beachbody Challenge $1000 monthly award for my results with Body Beast in July 2013 and the $5000 Quarterly award in November. As a result, many people ask me, what my "secret" is and what I "really" did. The truth is, I followed the plans that Beachbody pur together with very little deviation.
Question: Chet, did you follow Body Beast 100%? Meaning diet and everything with no extra workouts or cardio?
Answer: For the most part, yes I did. The only exceptions are, I did T25 a couple of times in place of beast cardio just to try it out. The second, I didn’t eat as much as the plan called for. And let me say, that is a regret. I was a little concerned I would put too much body fat on during the bulk phase (which you are supposed to a little bit) and not be able to shed it. The little fat I did put on during the bulk phase, I burned off within a couple of weeks during the Beast Phase (the leaning part at the end). I had plenty of time left had I needed it. Other than that, I followed the plan the whole way. Any other questions, I will be happy to answer. I will be doing a second round, again by the book, in about 3 weeks. Natalie is about to wrap up ChaLEAN Extreme, so I am going to wait for her and we are going to do Body Beast together. Beachbody puts their programs together for a reason and you will maximize your results if you just follow them.
Question: So Coach Chet, what do you recommend after T25, P90X or Body Beast?
Both P90X and Body Beast are great in their own right, and can be used before, during and after T25. Depends on what you what to do . You will burn fat and put on some muscle with both, obviously. However, your will shed more body fat with P90X and put on much more muscle in Body Beast. So it really depends on where you are and what you want to do after T25, which will definitely shed the fat. During Body Beast, I only did a couple of workouts of T25 (in place of Beast Cardio) and the sweat poured from me, and I was still sweating for quite a while afterward. I say, see where you are about week from finishing T25 and go from there. Either way you chose, you keep that intensity up and you will hit every goal you set.
Question: Did you really use Shakeology every day, if so, how important is it coach?
Yes, I really “do” use Shakeology every day, not just during my workout programs. I used it during P90X and Body Beast. In fact, I use a little more than a days’ worth. We always keep an extra bag of chocolate on hand to make things like cookies, pies, pancakes, etc. Shakeology helped me in my transformation in a number of ways. First, let me tell you, it works as advertised. It helped me control my hunger, helped me with my digestion and kept me…regular! If I had a “sweet tooth” craving, Shakeology took it away. And it is so versatile with the many deserts that you can make from it. I can’t count the number of the “no-bake” cookies I made from it. And the fact that it is all natural is a huge bonus.
