Bobby Long at Bamboozle Festival in Anaheim on March 28th: His U.S. reincarnation in 2010

England's Bobby Long

If you’re good in a past life, you come back as something better. Such is the case of Bobby Long, musician/singer/songwriter extraordinaire from England. Originally from Calne, Wiltshire, South West England, Bobby attended University in London and began singing in open mic nights. Phil Taylor, founder of Up All Night Music, noticed that Bobby was talented, unique, and special. He became Bobby’s Manager and booked him on a tour in the U.S.

With his guitar and beautiful  voice, Bobby took the U.S. by storm in 2009, traveling from the East coast to the West coast, and playing everywhere in between. Because of his song, "Let Me Sign" in the movie, Twilight, Bobby had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to launch a career worldwide where people actually “knew his name.” Being part of a Brit-Pack – a group of Brits who are best friends with Robert Pattinson – Bobby, Sam Bradley, Marcus Foster and Tom Sturridge all rose to new heights of notoriety.

In 2009, Bobby quickly made friends with people throughout the U.S. as music enthusiasts fell in love with his tone-rich, folksy style. About 6’2”, with chocolate brown hair that swoops carelessly over his blue eyes, Bobby’s sweet shyness and cockney accent made girls swoon and his music was noticed by record executives everywhere. Fan groups followed him from show to show and websites dedicated to him and his Brit-Pack friends were formed: Brit Pack Dreams, Shack of Soul and Land of Dreamers. These sites helped spread the news about Bobby and his fellow musicians and got record numbers of fans to come to his performances.

At Bobby’s shows, he sold his homemade album, Dirty Pond Songs, which will no doubt become a collector’s item one day. He actually recorded this album in the bedroom of his flat in London.

Currently, Bobby is in the U.S., fully entrenched in his 2010 Left to Lie World Tour. This year, it’s different, though. After 2009, this is now his second life in the U.S. People know him and expect great things. And, he’s delivering. He has matured and grown in his confidence, and in his talent. His tone – his performances – are better than ever. Bobby is traveling as extensively as he did in 2009, but this time around, he’s hitting a lot of festivals and even some universities and starting in May, he’ll be touring with Matt Pond, an indie artist signed to Altitude Records. This will expand his fan base even more.

On Sunday, March 28th, Bobby will perform at the Angel Stadium at the Bamboozle Festival in Anaheim, California. This festival features top recording artists like Paramore and Weezer (who are playing at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey).

And, in June, Bobby will release his much anticipated first studio album, (which he financed from his 2009 tour) recorded at legendary ToeRag Studios and produced by Liam Watson (White Stripes, Elephant).

Don’t forget to see Bobby Long in concert this year. You’ll notice the difference. What was good about him last year, is even better this year!

Yeah, it would be nice if Paramore, or any other group I'd heard of, were playing at the ANAHEIM Bamboozle. All the good bands are in New Jersey, only. But Bobby's still worth going to see, so I'll be there on Sunday.

To DeEtta: Actually, Bobby's eyes are blue in a certain light and they look green in other lights. I've noticed this unusual quality in the color of his eyes!
