Bobby Flay and DWTS: Will he dance or not?

Fans are anxious to know who will be the celebrity dancers on “Dancing With the Stars” for season 16, and Hollywood Life reported on Feb. 21 that three have been confirmed, one of the them being celebrity chef Bobby Flay. Sources told Zagat on Feb. 22, however, that while Flay was asked to join the show, he declined and will not be dancing during season 16 or any other.

Bobby Flay’s decision not to be a part of DWTS is a good one – he’s an accomplished chef and wants to be remembered as such, not for spinning and twirling around the dance floor in outlandish costumes. While he does love to dance, he’s more comfortable in the kitchen than the dance floor, and a double-breasted white jacket and traditional toque are likely his wardrobe of choice when not in street clothes.

Apparently Geoffrey Zakarian isn’t opposed to throwing his chef’s hat in the ring in a bid for something a bit more colorful. The celebrated Iron Chef has indicated that he’d love to be considered as a contender for future “Dancing With the Stars” competitions.

Flay’s wife, actress Stephanie March of “Law and Order: SVU” fame, has said that she will divorce him if he appears on the show. With Bobby’s name having been linked to January Jones in 2010, it’s unlikely that he’d let the show come between them.
