The next in a series of Bobby Combs Century Doubles tournaments will take place on Sunday, March 17, at AMF Gulf Gate Lanes.
The popular tournament series features a unique format in which all doubles teams must consist of partners who have combined ages totaling at least 100 as of the time of bowling.
The event is open to all current members of the United States Bowling Congress, and there will be only one squad, beginning at 2 p.m.
The format will be three games on a handicap (90 percent of 220) basis, and entry fee will be $30 per doubles team, plus $5 per bowler for each entry into the optional Alibi Doubles event, in which bowlers use scores rolled by other (non-partner) tournament competitors for qualifying on a separate prize list.
.
Pre-entries are suggested, but walk-ins will be accepted, and it is requested that entrants check in at least 45 minutes prior to starting time.
In the most-recent Century Doubles, Glenn Jessup and Roger King captured top honors in a 62-team field on Dec. 16 at AMF Bradenton Lanes. For a report on that tournament, click here.
