Bobby Brown sentenced to 55 days in jail for DUI

Bobby Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in jail following his recent DUI arrest, according to TMZ on Feb. 26.

Brown was reportedly pulled over in October for driving erratically and smelling like alcohol. The “My Prerogative” singer was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI and driving without a license.

Brown pled no contest to the charges today, says the website. He was sentenced to jail time and four years of probation. The ex-husband of the late singer Whitney Houston was also ordered to complete 18 months of alcohol addiction treatment.

This was not the first DUI for the “New Edition” boy band member. His first arrest was in 1996 which resulted in a conviction. Brown was convicted again in 2012, and had his license suspended as a result.

Brown is required to turn himself in to authorities by March 20, TMZ reports. The singer is also ordered to attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week until then.
