Bob Newhart joins 'The Big Bang Theory' for an episode filled with great humor

Bob Newhart is coming to “The Big Bang Theory” and for those of you old enough to remember Newhart, you know this will be one funny episode. Newhart, who is known for his dry sense of humor is in an episode of “Big Bang” that is scheduled to air in May, according to the Huffington Post on Thursday, March 21, 2013.

The funny man from the former “Bob Newhart Show” and “Newhart” will play Professor Proton, a childhood TV idol of Sheldon's. While looking up his favorite TV host Sheldon discovers that Professor Proton is now hired out for engagements and Sheldon brings him to his home.

The last time Newhart was seen on the TV screen was a while ago when he did a quest spot on “Desperate Housewives” in 2005 and before that he did a gig on “ER” in 2003. Both Bob Newhart's shows were very popular back in the 1970s and 1980s when his shows aired. It was a weekly destination for quality TV back then.
