Activist Bob Geldof has predicted mankind's extinction in the not too distant future. IMDb shares that Geldof was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his continuing efforts to eradicate world hunger. Now Geldof is turning to environmental activism, with The Telegraph reporting on Oct. 3, 2013, "'We’re facing a mass extinction event,' claims Bob Geldof."
Geldof has warned that the human race may be extinct within 15 years due to climate change from global warming. At the launch of the One Young World summit in Johannesburg he said, “We're in a very fraught time. There will be a mass extinction event. The signs are that it will happen and soon.”
Geldof shared these thoughts with 8,000 One Young World delegates from 190 nations across the world in Soccer City, Johannesburg. He also said that we all need to be more human and less Irish, less Chinese, less Cameroonian, less Russian, just more human.
Geldof feels his generation has let down the young people of today. He also commented that mankind may not get to 2030. It is his feeling the problem of climate change must be addressed urgently. However, he feels that even if progress seems impossible you should not stop from trying for it because the alternative is finality.
Although Geldof apologized for being "bloody miserable" at the end of this address, he really has nothing much to apologize about since the world has become as miserable as he is making it out to be for most people on the decaying planet earth.
