As the nights get cooler summer already feels like it's coming to an end, but for Seattle's music lovers that can only mean one thing - it's time for Bumbershoot.

The music and arts festival is now in its 40th year, and those wise people at Bumbershoot have decided to see out their fourth decade in style. This year will see international stars Bob Dylan, Weezer and Mary J. Blige headlining the festival over the long Labor Day weekend, and there are plenty of notable acts spread out across the three days.

Saturday September 4 will see Bob Dylan, Tacoma native Neko Case and Oregonians The Decemberists on the Bumbershoot Mainstage, while Sunday boasts Weezer, Courtney Love's Hole and Rise Against. Monday September 6 sees a change of pace, as Mary J. Blige, Drake and J. Cole bring Bumbershoot 2010 to a close.

On the other stages, the likes of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Ra Ra Riot and Hey Marseilles can be seen alongside festival veterans Billy Bragg and The Dandy Warhols. There's plenty of emerging talent too, from Surfer Blood to The Thermals. Check out our Bumbershoot line-up announcement for further details of this year's acts.

The good news is that the weather forecast for the weekend is dry, so you may be able to leave your bumbershoot at home. For other festivalgoing tips, see our essential Bumbershoot survival guide from last year's festival.

Tickets for all three days of the festival are still available from the Bumbershoot website, or on the door. Note that there is a new Bumbershoot ticketing policy for 2010, and Mainstage tickets may not be available on the day.

We will be covering all three days of this year's Bumbershoot live from the festival itself, so be certain to subscribe to our articles (link at the top of the page) or follow us on Twitter to stay up to date on the latest news and reviews from the three-day event. And if you see us out and about in the Bumbershoot grounds, mine's a grande latte...
