Bob Dylan will perform at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. An official announcement is expected later today (Thursday).

The article stated that Dylan is expected to play his acoustic guitar, and "perform alongside two rising folk-rock bands whose work draws from the same well: Mumford & Sons and the Avett Brothers."

Mumford & Sons will perform "The Cave,” followed by the Avett Brothers' “Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise". It is unclear if Dylan's choice has been decided.

The ceremony will be telecast live this Sunday on CBS. It will be his fifth appearance.

According to the Los Angeles Times, producer Ken Ehrlich said that the entire plan is "all subject to a certain person's (read: Dylan's) approval":

“I don’t think either of these bands would be on a stage if it wasn’t for the music of Bob Dylan,” Ehrlich said. “I think for the harmonies alone it should be something special. You don’t know what you’ve got, what the blend is, until you see it, but I think it could be fantastic.”

Mick Jagger and Barbra Streisand are also expected to perform during the evening, as well as Justin Bieber, Drake and Katy Perry.

Dylan has been nominated for a Grammy more than 20 times, and has won 11:

1973  Album of the Year for "The Concert For Bangla Desh" shared with George Harrison; Eric Clapton; Ravi Shankar; Leon Russell; Ringo Starr
1980 Best Rock Vocal Performance - Male for "Gotta Serve Somebody"

2002 Best Contemporary Folk Album for " 'Love & Theft' "
