Bob Dylan to make "Must Be Santa" video ? Plus Co-op bank ad

Bob Dylan's upcoming holiday album (Sony)

The fan-site “Right Wing Bob”  has a report on a new Bob Dylan video. According to the web-site, there will not only be a video for “It Must Be Santa”, from the upcoming “Christmas In The Heart” album, but Dylan will actually appear in it. More detailed information can be found here.

In recent years, Dylan has only appeared in commercials, and videos for non-album tracks like “’Cross The Green Mountain” (from the motion picture “Gods and Generals”) and "Things Have Changed" (from "Wonder Boys"). Promotional videos from Dylan’s most recent albums either featured actors, or old clips of Dylan.

Bob Dylan’s original 1963 version of “Blowin’ In The Wind” was used in an advertisement for Co-op Bank. According to the Mirror (U.K.), the promotion helped bring in 120,000 new customers immediately after it appeared on television and in movie theaters. Here’s the extended cinema version, which features most of the song :

Labeling the Cooperative a bank doesn't quite tell the story.

Your second paragraph is not quite true. He appeared singing Someday Baby for an iPod commercial and he appeared in a commercial for his Love & Theft album with the song Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee. He also recently appeared in a Cadillac Escalade TV ad.

Dylan appeared in the 2004 Victoria's Secret TV ad, singing the song "Love Sick" from the 1998 album "Time Out Of Mind."

To say that "In recent years, Dylan has only appeared in commercials and videos for non-album tracks" just isn't at all true, as other comments have also noted.

    Johnnie and Jackson,
I added the missing comma. I hope that clears things up !
    Thanks for your comments,
