Bob Dylan is playing Viareggio, Italy, on June 16, according to a new newspaper report.
Here's a very rough summary, originally sent to me from "Mr. Tambourine" at Maggie's Farm. (This was slightly edited by me. Please forgive any inaccuracies):
Music: Bob Dylan in concert June 16 in Viareggio
Seats for five thousand in the Citadel of the Carnival
(ANSA) - Viareggio (Lucca), Apr. 27. Five thousand seats will be be available for a June 16 Bob Dylan concert scheduled in Viareggio (the Citadel of Carnival). The announcement was made this afternoon by Mimmo D'Alessandro, manager of D'Alessandro e Galli Agency, the Italian agent for Bob Dylan.
This date is not currently listed on Bob Dylan's official site, or Bob Links. It should be noted that there was also an announcement of a concert in Israel that hasn't materialized. There was also controversy concerning Dylan's planned tour of China.
The following dates have been confirmed by bobdylan.com:
June 15: Padova, Italy: Anfiteatro Camerini
June 18: Parma, Italy: Parco Ducale
There are no dates currently listed for June 16 or 17.
The Desolation Row Information Service, reported in March that the "June 16th, Rome (date) . . . is likely to change to Siena. Should know within the next few days. The rumored Viareggio show will not happen."
Stay tuned.

What do you hear about a possible 2010 US Tour?
Great news for all his European followers
Jo -
I have heard that there have been some inquiries from Dylan's camp about a summer US tour of outdoor sheds, but that cannot be confirmed. However, it's way too early to say anything is happening at this point.
Thanks,
Harold Lepidus
