The rumors are starting - Bob Dylan may be touring North America this summer.
I've heard from a couple of sources that Dylan's management has been looking into the possibility of booking a summer tour of North America. The dates mentioned to me were in New England. There was no other information other than there were some "inquiries". Needless to say, there is nothing definite yet.
A Metronews.ca (Halifax) article stated Dylan that was rumored to headline Halifax Rocks 2010, on July 23. However, it turns out that this will probably not happen:
Metro has learned the yet-to-be-announced lineup for the rock show will feature a “fresh new lineup of artists” who haven’t performed in the city before.
This would rule out Dylan, who appeared there in 1997, 2002, and 2008.
Dylan has not toured North American since last November, except for a special performance at the White House in February. So far this year, he has performed in Japan and South Korea, and has booked a major European tour for the spring and early summer, which is scheduled to end in Ireland on July 4 .
On a side note: Over the weekend, Bob Dylan's official website finally added the ticket information for the Cittadella del Carnevale date in Viareggio, Italy, on June 16.
