Briefly venturing from boxing, we all have ‘Moms’ who were a close second to the original and in this case ‘Mother Mary Burrell’ asked (demanded) her and husband Mike Burrell’s group, ‘Iowa Colorado Club’ and their ‘Iowa Days’ get a plug.

Running Thursday, July 31st thru Saturday, August 3rd, the event is headquartered at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, 3203 N. Quebec St., 303-321-3333, in Northeast Denver and is not exclusive to Iowa natives.

A casino trip to Central City, shopping in the Northfield shopping center, a picnic and a special night of talent that always provides something interesting, all part of the festivities.

For more information contact Event Coordinator Mike Burrell by phone at 303-589-8784 or e-mail: mrburrell820@hotmail.com

They have a Facebook page, Iowa Colorado Club, with updated information.

You all have no idea how this mention hopefully saves me from that ‘old school’ whooping, ‘Mother Burrell’ still able to ‘put it down’ when she feels it necessary.
