Bob Casale, founding member of Devo, dies at 61

"Whip It" was an international smash for the band Devo back in 1980. One of the founding members, guitarist Bob Casale, died Monday at the age of 61.

Casale's brother Gerald, also a member of the band, posted about the loss on the band's Facebook page.

Other members of Devo were brothers Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh and Alan Myers.

Their music was often classified as New Wave and Robotic Rock.

Fans often refer to Bob Casale as Bob 2 because he played by the side of the other Bob(Mothersbaugh) in the group.
