It’s half time of the eight part series on Lance Armstrong Syndrome and Obama's ailing from it! Let’s take a break to address comments Bob Beckel made on (The 5) February 16, and repeated on the 17th.
Bob Beckel made a convoluted comparison having guns legally in America to apartheid in South Africa, in an attempt to frame our gun control issue as racist! His peers on “The 5” appeared totally confused by what he was saying. However, if you could navigate Beckel’s partisan ramblings, you’d discover he said something quite important!
In essence, I think he was saying allowing the so-called “good people” to have guns made the so-called “bad people” subjugated to the so-called “good people”! Certainly a government, whom Beckel defined as a false “good people” and the oppressed blacks defined as the false “bad people” was an ugly oppressive situation! Beckel did everything but make air quotation marks to make his point.
Bob Beckel’s bias misses the point in America’s case. “Good people” are legal gun owners following the law! “Bad people” are criminals, attaining illegal guns to commit crimes. This is distinctly different than when apartheid existed in South Africa!
It is actually our government who fits Beckel’s comparison! Apartheid South African white government wanted the blacks disarmed to make them easier to oppress and suppress to keep them under control. Practicing tyranny against the people, government saw such disarming to attain and retain their superior position! This was so similar to Hitler’s Germany, Stalin’s Russia, Mao’s China and a cavalcade of others who disarmed their people setting them up for oppression and massacre!
Mr. Beckel, like so many other liberals works so hard to brand opponents racist on every issue. He did the opposite. In making his case for racism in the “gun control” issue, he made the case for the Founding Fathers and the 2nd Amendment and the people’s right to bear arms!
Let me be clear! Historically those leaders disarming their population have been the “bad guys”! The truth is they have been leaders of tyranny with god like perceptions of themselves. We have people in America’s government that fit this description!
In the world’s recent history there has been a cavalcade of dictators following the methods of Hitler and Stalin, keeping guns away from those they seek to oppress and massacre. Benito Mussolini, Italy 1931, Mao Tze Tung, China 1938, Pol Pot Cambodia, 1975, Fidel Castro, Cuba, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and numerous other, especially in Africa!
The infection of tyranny is poking its ugly head in America. The mounting pustule of corrupt government controlling the people rather than government of the people, by the people, and for the people that is in danger to parish from this earth! Many of our own leaders are at the forefront of this evolutionary movement of the decay of our democracy!
