When “Boardwalk Empire” enters its swan song, viewers will have the chance to get a look at the show’s lead, Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), before he became one of the most powerful men in Atlantic City, according to a Feb. 19 report from E! Online.

The people on “Spoiler Chat” dished out just a little bit of information on the upcoming fifth and final season. Someone by the name of “John S.” asked what viewers can expect. Here is the response:

“A flashback to a young Nucky! We'll see the gangster when he was a pre-teen and learn that he didn't exactly grow up in a warm and loving home. Of course, we'll also get to see that he had his street smarts even at a young age.”

It isn’t much, but it’ll do for the time being. There are still plenty of stories on which the “Boardwalk Empire” writers can expand – including Al Capone’s reign and a deeper look into J. Edgar Hoover’s life.

For right now, fans must wait until the fall when the series returns. An official premiere date has yet to be announced.
