Warning: There are spoilers about season two of “Boardwalk Empire.”
Before Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt) was killed off in season two of “Boardwalk Empire,” he turned his back against his friend, Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), who was half politician and half gangster. In the upcoming heist comedy-drama, “Rob the Mob,” Pitt will once again play a character who decides to go after gangsters. And like “Boardwalk Empire,” there is some truth behind “Rob the Mob.” The trailer, which was uploaded to YouTube on Dec. 16, can be viewed at the top of this column.
In the film, Pitt and Nina Arianda play a couple in Queens, N.Y., who discover a quick way to get rich. And that plan is to rob members of the mafia. But then the FBI, led by Ray Romano, gets involved, and things start to get crazy.
“Rob the Mob” also stars Andy Garcia, Burt Young, Frank Whaley, and Griffin Dunne. The film will release to theaters on March 21, 2014, according to First Showing.
