‘Boardwalk Empire’ alum Charlie Cox will star in CBS’ Wall Street drama

Charlie Cox has been cast as the lead in a new drama for CBS from executive producer John Cusack, according to a Feb. 21 report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Cox, who played Owen Sleater for two seasons on “Boardwalk Empire,” will star in the untitled Wall Street drama – which is being penned by “Justified” writers Taylor Elmore and Ben Cavell – as Jackson, who is described as “a smart and sophisticated Wall Street hedge fund trader who served his country in Iraq and has the integrity and desire to do good.”

The story is an original idea from Elmore, Cavell, Cusack, and Kevin McCabe. This will also mark a return to CBS for Cox, who starred in the pilot for “The Ordained.” That show was not picked up to be a series.

Cox’s character on “Boardwalk Empire” suffered a brutal death at the hands of Gyp Rosetti’s ally, Joe Masseria. And then he got shipped to Nucky’s house in a box in the middle of the night.
