San Berardino County Board of Supervisors will meet at Magda Lawson Room, Fifth Floor,
County Government Center on Tuesday October 8, 2013
The agenda includes discussions of Aging and Adult Services, Architecture and Engineering, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Behavioral Health, among other topics.
The Supervisors spend you tax money, so you need to get involved. According to the written rules:
In accordance with the Rules Applicable to Board of Supervisors Meetings (County Code Section 12.0101), members of the public may address the Board on any item on the agenda and on any matter that is within the Board’s jurisdiction. To address the Board regarding an item that is on the agenda, complete and submit the yellow form entitled “Calendared Item-Request to Speak.” To address the Board regarding an item that is within their jurisdiction, but not on today’s agenda, complete and submit the white “Public Comment – Request to Speak” form. These requests must be submitted to the Clerk of the Board prior to the time the item is called for consideration. The Chairman will call speakers forward to present their comments at the appropriate time. When called, approach the podium and please state your name before giving your presentation. Speakers may address the Board for up to three (3) minutes total on the consent calendar, up to three (3) minutes on each discussion item, and up to three (3) minutes total on Public Comment, not to exceed a total of twelve (12) minutes for the meeting, unless it is determined that a different limit is appropriate. Speakers are to address the Board as a whole through the Chair. Comments to individual Supervisors and/or staff are not permitted.

Alternate locations to address the Board - Any person interested in viewing or addressing the Board during a Board approved meeting (click here for list of scheduled meetings) by interactive video (the Board members may see as well as hear speakers) may do so at the Bob Burke Joshua Tree Government Center, located at 63665 Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree, CA 92252 or the Jerry Lewis High Desert Government Center, 15900 Smoke Tree Street, Hesperia, CA 92345. If any such person intends to submit documentation to the Board for its consideration prior to the meeting, such documentation shall be submitted to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 385 North Arrowhead Avenue, 2nd Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92415-0130, no later than 5:00 p.m. the day before the scheduled meeting or hearing. Any documentation submitted at the videoconferencing sites shall become part of the official record for the matter, but will not be disseminated to the Board prior to the Board’s action on such matter. NOTE: These alternate locations are being offered as a courtesy for Board approved meetings (see above) and may be closed due to inclement weather or may not be available if technology fails. If the sites are closed due to inclement weather, a notice will be posted by 9:00 a.m. the day of the Board meeting.
Of special interest are the two agenda items concerning the County Flood Control District:
56) Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Flood Control District:
1. Adopt Resolution declaring San Bernardino County Flood Control District land (portion of APN 1201-331-01), containing approximately 8,841 square feet and located on the north side of Fifth Street/Greenspot Road in the City of Highland and adjacent to State Route 210 at the Greenspot Road north bound on-ramp, is no longer necessary to be retained for the uses and purposes of the San Bernardino County Flood Control District and authorize the conveyance of said property to the State of California in accordance with the San Bernardino County Flood Control Act, California Water Code Appendix 43-6 and Government Code § 25365, and County Policy No. 08-18 for Surplus Real Property disposition upon payment in the amount of $82,220 (Four votes required).
2. Authorize the Chair to execute the Right of Way Contract and Grant Deed to convey said land to the State of California. 3. Authorize the Director of the Real Estate Services Department to execute escrow instructions and any other documents necessary to complete this transaction.

57) Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Flood Control District, approve a fifty-year revenue license agreement with three ten-year options to extend the term with the City of Redlands for approximately 1,315 linear feet of unimproved land for operating and maintaining an underground sewer pipeline within the San Bernardino County Flood Control District right-of-way in the Mission-Zanja Channel between Nevada Street and Iowa Street in the City of Redlands retroactive to May 21, 2013 through May 20, 2063 for total revenue of $97,500.
