Bo the dog keeps motorcade despite sequester

Bo the dog keeps motorcade? That’s the major headline that’s ruffling a few feathers on Sunday night, especially for those who have been staunchly opposed to President Obama’s first term in office.

Fox News ran a story over the weekend lamenting the fact that the White House has canceled its famed tours due to a lack of funds. But apparently, Bo the dog is still traveling in style.

The network says that the budget for the White House Visitor’s Center is more than $9 million, which is the cost to operate Air Force One for “just 51 hours.”

But the real beef conservatives have with Obama is his dog, Bo. According to Fox, whenever Bo travels outside the White House to certain events, vacations, or even Petco, he travels by way of motorcade.

And because funds are low these days, even for those inside the White House, critics of Obama are upset that young school children cannot visit the White House and learn via a first hand look at government in Washington, yet Bo the dog is getting the royal motorcade treatment.

What do you think about this story? Do you feel that, despite being a dog, Bo is not only considered a family member of the Obama’s, but part of the First Family, and should be treated as such?

Or do you feel that Bo needs to drop the diva attitude and walk everywhere he needs to get to?
