As the Denver Auto Shows picks up speed this week give local residents the opportunity to drive any of several BMW models on a predetermined road course in Denver and a demonstration specific closed handling course at the Pepsi Center.
Drivers can choose from the full lineup of BMW sedans including 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series Gran Coupe and 7 Series models to personally experience its intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
Receiving 53 inches of snowfall during most years and with a well-deserved reputation as one of America’s snowiest cities, driving in Denver can be challenging, so BMW will be here Friday through Sunday to show they are up to the challenge.
Providing interested potential buyers a chance to drive these vehicles in their own back yard, will enable the brand to thoroughly demonstrate the adaptability and acumen of the xDrive system.
The first part of the xDrive experience begins with a vehicle presentation and walk-around, enhanced by a 15-minute drive through Denver, including both urban and open road driving.
Part two is comprised of two laps around a course defined by orange highway cones on the Pepsi Center grounds to illustrate the vehicle’s maneuverability and highlight the strengths of xDrive in all weather conditions.
In contrast to other all-wheel drive systems, BMW's xDrive intelligent system maintains a surefooted grip on slick or uneven roads, without losing the feel of rear-wheel drive. It cleverly directs torque to the wheels with the strongest grip within milliseconds.
Consequently, under normal conditions, drive is distributed with a rear-wheel bias. Whenever the system detects significant wheel slip, it subtly redirects torque to correct to the conditions, offering maximum traction and superior handling on all surfaces – despite the fickle nature of Colorado weather.
BMW xDrive is an available option on several BMW models including the 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series and the X1 Sports Activity Vehicle, while a standard feature on the BMW X3, X5 and X6 SUVs.

The BMW xDrive Experience will be staged at the Pepsi Center from March 22 to 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested parties are encouraged to call their local BMW dealer for more information.
The Denver Auto Show opens this afternoon and continues through 6 pm Sunday.
