The event took place on the eve of the Latin Grammy Awards and was presented by Broadcast Music, Inc.®, (BMI), Los Producers, Full Sail University, Lurssen Mastering, Los Angeles Film School, Remezcla, Rums of Puerto Rico, SXSW Music, Universal Music Publishing Group and Warner/Chappell Music
The event was hosted by producer Diablito, and featured performances by Latin Grammy winners, nominees, and Latin music performers. The lineup included Alex Cuba, Aleks Syntek, Black Guayaba, Bomba Estereo, Eliacim, Gaby Moreno, Gian Marco, Illya Kuryaki, Jenny and the Mexicats, Jot Dog, Kany García, La Vida Bohème, Mojito Lite, Tommy Torres, La Santa Cecilia, and Ximena Sariñana. They were backed by the all-star Los Producers band, comprised of Sebastian Krys, Dan Warner, Lee Levin, Doug Emery and John Falcone. In between sets, El Dusty entertained the crowd with his DJ set.
The crowd was treated to performances by singer-songwriters who covered a variety of '80s-era pop, rock and soul hits, including Prince’s "Kiss," Michael Jackson’s "Rock With You," Guns N’ Roses' "Sweet Child of Mine," " Rick James’ "Superfreak," and Sting’s "Roxannne," among others.
BMI and Los Producers have joined forces with ETMLA, which promotes and provides music in disadvantaged schools as part of the core curriculum in order to enhance students' academic achievement and overall development. ETMLA partners with low-income area elementary and middle schools that lack the resources for a school-wide music program. They collaborates with school and district leaders to customize a high quality music program that will serve every child for the entire year.
