Prolific blues player Patrick Sweany is out on the road this summer to promote his latest album “Close to the Floor,” which was released last year via Nine Mile Records. Along with several festival appearances, including Mile of Music in Wisconsin and the Hullabaloo Music Festival in Bellevue, NE, Sweany will play small clubs across the country. The tour will wrap up September 13 in Denver, CO. He'll be in Chicago August 8 at Reggie's Music Joint with the Turbo Fruits. Tickets are on sale now. Complete list of dates can be found below.
Recently, Esquire released Sweany's video for his recent single “Working for You” and last month Paste Magazine premiered the video for “Every Night Every Day.”
Sweany's name may not be the first that comes to mind when talking about the blues, but he has had quite a successful career. He began in the early '90s and released his debut album “I Wanna Tell You” in 1999 to critical acclaim. In 2001 he formed the Patrick Sweany Band, which included drummer Clint Alguire and several revolving guitarists, such as Bob Basone, Jon Finley, and even The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. In 2006 he signed a deal with Nine Mile Records, the same year he released his fourth album “C'mon C'mere.” After that, he released three more albums leading up to his 2013 LP.
