Blues and Brews returns to Denver's South Pearl Street

Blues and Brews

Blues and Brews 2010

The fourth annual Blues and Brews is taking place Saturday July 10, 2010 from noon-10 pm on the 1200 block of South Pearl street just one block west of the Louisiana stop on the RTD lightrail.  There is a $5 admission fee, show your RTD ticket for a discounted entrance.

Local restaurants and food vendors will be on hand to feed the hungry masses and give people the chance to see what kind of food is available in the neighborhood. You can expect to see offerings from Duffy Roll, Hanson's, India's Pearl and Pearl Street Grill as well as carnival and fair food like cotton candy, frozen lemonade, snow cones, hot dogs, etc.

Here is a listing of the Blues bands that we can expect to hear at this year's festival.

  • Janiva Magness
  • Harmonica Blowout
  • George Whitsell's All Stars
  • Grady Champion
  • Lionel Young Band w/Erica Brown
  • Teresa Lynne
  • Jim Adam & Jon Stillwagon
  • The Clamdaddy's

This should be a great family event with an all day line up of Blues and some tasty brews from across the west for the curious beer drinker to enjoy. If last years Brewery lineup is anything close to 2010's line up, I will be stoked to see Deschutes, Great Divide and Avery in attendance.

Though I haven't been able to locate a confirmed listing of breweries for this year, here is a list of the attending breweries from last year.  I would expect that most of the same and possibly a few others will likely participate.

  • Avery Brewery
  • Coors
  • Del Norte Brewing
  • Deschutes Brewery
  • Flying Dog Brewery
  • Great Divide Brewing Co.
  • Left Hand Brewing Company
  • New Belgium Brewing Company
  • Odell Brewing Company
  • Oskar Blues Brewery
  • Wynkoop Brewery

Hopefully the weekend will bring beautiful weather for the event but if it is seriously hot, dodge into Hanson's to cool off with Happy Hour from 11 am - 5pm and again from 9 pm - 12 am.  Enjoy all of the great music and brews and share your favorites in the comments if you get the chance to attend this classic neighborhood block party.
