Looking for a fun filled event for the entire family. Well look no further than "The Rock" located at 130 Forsythe Lake Road in Rockmart, Ga. just off Highway 278. This Thursday kicks off the beginning of the "Rock Spring Bluegrass Festival", a three day festival filled with arts, crafts, food vendors, and plenty of bluegrass music.
The festival, often referred to as one of Rockmart's Best Kept Secrets will begin on Thursday, June 02, 2011 and will continue through Saturday, June 04, 2011.
There will be a covered dish dinner and plenty of bluegrass jamming on Thursday at 7pm. You can bring a covered dish if you like however, it is not required. Thursdays events are free to the public.
Bluegrass favorites taking the stage this weekend are Foggy Hollow, The Bruce Weeks Family, Crossin The Gap, East Dixie Boys, Suggins Brothers, Grass Backards, Brush Fire, Valley Road and Pam Thrower and Shine.
On Friday, the main stage show is from 6PM to 11 PM and tickets are $12.00. On Saturday, the main stage show is from from 1PM until 11 PM and tickets are $15.00. Buy a weekend pass for just $25.00. Admission of Free for active duty military personnel, must show ID Card at the gate.
Anyone who brings a Polk County Politician to the Bluegrass Festival at The Rock this weekend will be admitted free. Politician must be verified by event coordinator, Jon Hitchcock.
The Rock boasts 75 acres with a running creek, fishing lake, picnic tables, a vintage farm implement museum, large pavilion, large stage and a campground for tents as well as RV/campers. The Rock offers tent campsites for only $10.00 per day and RV/camper sites for $25.00 per day.
Plan to stay the weekend and enjoy all the fun and festivities that The Rock has to offer. The Rock is located on the Silver Comet Trail, so bring your bikes.
