Blueberry season is in full bloom! Grab up the kids and take a trip to a you-pick blueberry farm. It will be a fun and memorable experience for the kids. The sound of the berries hitting the bottom of the pail brings back a lot of memories. My brother and I would get in trouble because we'd eat every other blueberry that we picked! Our tongues and hands were bluish purple by the time we were done and we couldn't wait to get home for Mom to make up some sort of blueberry dish.
You can also freeze blueberries for later use. Picking your own blueberries ensures that you are getting them fresh. I've made a list of a few blueberry farms in the Wake County, North Carolina, and the surrounding area. Make sure you check ahead for times and days of operation. Click on the links below to get more information on each farm.
Tween Towns Farm, Oxford, North Carolina
Herndon Hills Farm - Durham, North Carolina
Busy Bee Farm - Pittsboro, North Carolina
Vollmer Farm - Bunn, North Carolina
If you have any you-pick blueberry farms to add to this list, please leave the information in the comment section.

Cheap Appetite, if the berries are thawed just make sure they are drained well and then toss gently with the flour. If they are frozen the flour won't stick to them so just mix them in gently at the end without the flour.
