Blue Rodeo expand 2014 Canadian summer tour

Blue Rodeo have added more dates in eastern and western Canada to their 2014 summer tour schedule. Touring in support of their latest studio album "In Our Nature," the veteran Canuck roots rockers have confirmed three new stops, which will include an outdoor appearance in Sydney, PI.

According to a news release posted May 8 on their official website at, the multi-Juno Award winners will perform an outdoor show on Aug. 1 in Sydney, NS at Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion, as well as on July 4 in Banff, AB at the Shaw Amphitheatre in The Banff Centre. The 2012 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees also recently announced their annual home turf show on Aug. 15 at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre.

Presales for the Sydney show go on sale May 8. General onsales TBA. The bill will also feature Great Big Sea's Alan Doyle as opening act.

General onsales for the Banff show are available May 8. Vancouver, BC trio The Shrugs will open the show.

Presales for the Toronto show are on sale now. General onsales begin May 9. Saskatoon, SK alt-country-rockers Deep Dark Woods will perform as guest artists.

The summer trek kicks off July 4 in Lewiston, N.Y at Artpark and wraps up Nov. 6 in Thunder Bay, ON at Thunder Bay Community Auditorium with a special duo show, featuring Blue Rodeo frontmen Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor. For details, check out or their official Facebook page.

Blue Rodeo were recently announced among the winners of the prestigious 2014 Governor General's Performing Arts Awards. They will honoured at a gala on Sat., May 10 in Ottawa, On at the National Arts Centre.

Did you know? Blue Rodeo were the official ambassadors of Record Store Day 2014 in Canada last month and reissued their classic 1989 album "Diamond Mine" as a double LP on blue and green 180-gram vinyl to commemorate the event.
