Blue Rodeo will headline the kick off of Trent University's 50th anniversary celebrations.
According to a news release posted March 27 at BlueRodeo.com, the veteran Canuck roots rockers will perform as part of the University’s anniversary kick-off weekend slated for Aug. 7-10.
The show takes place on Fri., August 8 in Peterborough, ON at Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Special guest artists will be Burning Hell.
Blue Rodeo wrapped up the east coast leg of their winter Canadian tour in support of their latest studio album "In Our Nature" in Montreal earlier this month and this week were among the winners of the prestigious 2014 Governor General's Performing Arts Awards.
Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy was announced among the final 2014 Juno Awards presenters and will be part of a tribute to 2014 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees Bachman-Turner Overdrive, scheduled to close the Juno ceremonies on March 30 at Winnipeg's MTS Centre.
Blue Rodeo has also been named the official ambassadors of Record Store Day 2014 in Canada, which is set for Sat., April 19 and will be reissuing their classic 1989 album "Diamond Mine" as a double LP on blue and green 180-gram vinyl to commemorate the event.
