Who are these people calling out Beyonce and Jay Z over their daughter's hair with claims she is lacking hair care? This child has beautiful natural hair. An online petition was started by a woman on Change.org to get Beyonce and Jay Z to pay more attention to the baby girl's hair, what is wrong with this picture?
According to writer Julee Wilson of the Huffington Post in a June 11 article, she is disgusted after hearing about the petition. Since when is letting a child's hair grow naturally a bad thing. This petition is advocating for hair care products to be used on Blue Ivy. The name of the petition "Comb Her Hair."
You can't help feel sorry for Beyonce and Jay Z, who take enough jabs about themselves from the media. Now people have targeted their toddler's hair and what they consider a lack of grooming on behalf of her parents. The introduction to the petition calls Blue Ivy's hair "matted dreads and lint balls." That is a horrible thing to say about a baby, no matter who her parents are.
As the New York Daily News suggests today, there are online petitions against sexual assault, to build suicide prevention programs and other meaningful causes, but to ask Beyonce to change her daughter's hair, this seems to have gone a bit too far. The petition is drawing outrage, not at Beyonce and Jay Z, but at the woman who started this farce of a petition.
When Beyonce posted the latest picture of Blue Ivy this weekend she looked wonderful. She was ready for a day of play in her skinny kids' jeans and what looked like a blue fleece sweatshirt. The child was nothing short of cute and healthy looking.
How can people target the child's hair? This is just wrong and any mother will tell you nothing hurts more than to see someone target your child. Shame on you folks, this baby should be off limits. Some people have way too much time on their hands.
The woman who started the petition, Jasmine Toliver, has gained about 2000 supporters on this petition as of Thursday morning. Toliver writes on the petition:
"As a woman who understands the importance of hair care. It's disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture. The parents of Blue Ivy. Sean Carter a.k.a Jay Z and Beyoncé have failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy's hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let's get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair."
Suffering from lack of hair moisture? Really, what is that supposed to mean, the child is in pain from lack of moisture in her hair? A bit dramatic over a hairdo, isn't it?
