Here is a delicious rum based tropical drink you can make at home to turn a dreary winter day into something a bit more tropical!

Blue Hawaiian Cocktail

3/4 oz rum
3/4 oz blue curaçao
3/4 oz creme de coconut
2 oz pineapple juice
maraschino cherry for garnish
pineapple wedge for garnish
cracked ice

Fill a tumbler nearly full with cracked ice. Pour the ingredients in order over the ice. Stir once. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick and serve.

Sanford Shopping Tip: If you live in Sanford, you can buy the alcohol you need to make this Christmas cocktail at either Hannaford or Shaw's. Walmart does not sell hard liquor in Sanford. Hannaford is located at 800 Main Street (north of downtown) and Shaw's is located at 1364 Main Street (in the Center for Shopping in South Sanford).

Sanford Shopping Tip:  If you are throwing a Christmas cocktail party in the Sanford area, you must check out the Christmas party supplies and Christmas decorations at Marden's Surplus and Salvage. They have such a wide variety of Christmas items! Marden's Surplus is located at 1247 Main Street in Sanford. You can also shop at the two dollar stores for some good bargains. The Dollar Tree is located at 1364 Main Street (Route 109) in the Center for Shopping. Family Dollar is located at 890 Main Street in the upper level of the Mid Town Mall.
