While you’re at it, check out the manic app created just for this contest:

The app features a behind-the-scenes GIF grid (collage of clips) created exclusively from each film’s Blu-ray special features. It also provides a taste of what's coming in the next generation of Blu-ray.

Besides behind-the-scenes access, Blu-ray delivers special effects, talent interviews, alternative endings, unreleased scenes, bloopers, and sound and video six times the quality of DVDs. There is also no more waiting for buffers to load that you experience with streaming videos, curses be upon their ignoble circuitry.

Perhaps the most popular feature of Blu-ray these days is its versatility. A Blu-ray combo pack empowers you to watch films in high-def anywhere and anytime you want. As Partners Hub says, “You can keep the Blu-ray disc in the living room, DVD in the car and the digital copy on your phone for when you’re on the move.”

Moviemakers live by the creed that the better the physical movie experience, the better the audience’s emotional investment in the story. So what’s next on the horizon? I hear that the hologram room of TV’s “Star Trek” is actually in exploratory stages, with alternate scenarios available for most scenes so you can control the plot of the story. The word from Japan is not whether that “interactive” marvel will actually be produced but when. Then you can strap on an electronic pressure-sensor suit and feel Robert DeNiro’s gun poke you “a little bit,” or step nose-to-nose with Angelina Jolie and feel her “breath” on your latexed face. (Yes, I said “breath,” wistful readers.)

Ah, science.
