It was just a typical Saturday, until I stopped into Drybar.
I was running around town doing errands -- stopping into the Boston Public Library to pick up books then off to Mother's Rest to do a walk-through for the upcoming Boston Get Your Rear In Gear 5K for colon cancer. There were lots of things on my "to-do" list that day, but pampering wasn't one of those things.
Thanks to friends in the PR world, they had arranged for me to take a little break and test out Boston's newest blow-dry bar.
The moment I walked in the door, my weekend did a complete 180 degree turn! The salon was bright (yellow everywhere), organized, and welcoming. All the women working there were so cute and put together - sheesh, I hope no one noticed that I was in full work-out gear!
They had a little bit of a wait -- understandably so -- it was their second day open. No one seemed to mind though, the staff was handing out mimosa's and cupcakes to all the women waiting. Who told them that was the key to my heart!!
Then it was my turn!
There is nothing better than someone washing your hair. Ah, I die -- it was so luxurious! Then I was walked upstairs to meet my stylist Jennifer who was so sweet! I couldn't decide between two hair styles, so she helped me create my own look! She had all the right skills - my hair turned out amazing, but even so, it was the experience that made it all worth it. The mimosa's, the rom com movies, and to top it off - having someone playing with my hair -- heaven! This girls-only club was just what the doctor ordered for this girl.
Crazy thing is -- I didn't even go out that night, it ended up down-pouring and I decided against it. But even still -- this blowout was so worth it. My boyfriend thought I looked like a babe and I felt like a rockstar! What more do I need!!!
