Bloody pillow found in crib of deceased toddler

A bloody pillow was found in a crib of a 1-year-old Cambridge, Massachusetts girl who died. Baby wipes and a blanket stained with blood were also found in the bedroom of Rehma Sabir, according to a report from Yahoo! on Jan. 23.

The little girl was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and died two days later, according to court records revealed on Wednesday.

The girl was declared brain dead on January 16 at the Boston Children's Hospital, records from the Middlesex District Court in Medford indicated.

Police who inspected the child's room discovered the bloodstained items, on January 17, after returning to the Ash Street residence a second time.

Aisling McCarthy, 34, is being charged with assault and battery on a child causing substantial bodily injury, and is now in custody.

Authorities were first called to the home on January 14 when they received a 911 call. State records indicate that Brady had sole custody and was in contact with Sabir Rehma after 9:30 am until Rehma was found in her crib at 4:30 pm.
