Blood on the Dance Floor leads Wednesday's concert calendar

Wednesday's concerts include a performance by Orlando electro-pop act Blood on the Dance Floor. Here is a look at the BotDF show and the rest of the June 18 concert calendar.

Wednesday, Blood on the Dance Floor returns to Des Moines on their Bitchcraft tour, a tour that kicked off on June 11 to promote the group's new album of the same name. The band's seventh album will try to match the success of BotDF's last two albums, which climbed to #1 (2012's Evolution) and #2 (2013's Bad Blood) on the Dance chart respectively. The show at Wooly's will start at 7 p.m. with Millionaires, Haley Rose, and Corpse opening. Tickets for the all ages event are available through the box office or Ticketfly for $16 in advance or $18 the day of the show.

The Lew and Brad Band will perform in Des Moines at the Blank Park Zoo's Zoo Brew on Wednesday. The Des Moines blues rock duo will play the concert series for the second year in a row. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and feature not only live music and all the animals that the zoo has to offer, but also beer, wine, and food. Admission is the same as normal zoo admission—$11 for non-members and free for members. Zoo Brew is a cash-only, 21+ event.

Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines will host a concert doubleheader on June 18. At 6 p.m., there will be an R&B/Hip Hop showcase featuring performances by Cameron, Joey J, Spescha, Yasent, and Newmoney. The all ages event will have a $5 cover. The 10 p.m. late show finds Colorado-based progressive folk/rock/blues group Von Stomper headlining a show that will also feature a performance by Thankful Dirt. Von Stomper is touring in support of their self-titled debut album which was released in April. The late show also has a $5 cover, but it is a 21-and-over show.

Finally, the House of Bricks in Des Moines will host "Humpday Special Unplugged: Volume 2" on Wednesday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The local showcase will feature acoustic performances by Austin Anderson (debut show), Mason Jar, Liberty Hall Collective, and Mood Beside. The all ages show has a $5 cover charge.
