Blood Moon rising brings on end of the world predictions

The moon will turn a blood red color on April 14-15 due to a total lunar eclipse that will be taking place according to RT.Com reports on Saturday, April 5.

The approaching Blood Moon has sparked a lot of excitement, and fear with numerous people.

Scientist are excited to see the event take place, but some Christians claim it is a sign of the end of the world.

A total lunar eclipse set to sweep the skies on April 14-15 and turn the moon blood-red just before midnight has got scientists excited and some Christians fearing for the end of days.

The Blood Moon will fill the sky beginning 21:20 GMT on Monday April 14 and will be the first of two total lunar eclipses in 2014.

The event will off begin the opening of a lunar tetrad, four total lunar eclipses in a series.

A lunar eclipses takes place when the sun, Earth and moon align, causing the Earth's shadow to fall on the moon, darkening it.

The red color comes after the moon aligns with the sun during the same time period.

The following three eclipses in the "tetrad" will take place in October, April 2015 and September 2015.

Now lets get to the end of the world part. According to a number of doomsday believers this event is also going to end the world.

Pastor and author of "Four Blood Moons" John Hagee states:

Something Is About to Change,’ citing Joel 2:31 as evidence, which reads:

"The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come."

The subject has been discussed upon the social media with many taking the doomsday end of the world prediction with a grain of salt and humor.
