Fans rejoice, THIS IS SPARTACUS!!!
After a long delay due to the untimely sickness and demise of lead actor Andy Whitfield, the second season of Spartacus returns to Starz. The new season titled Spartacus: Vengeance follows the events at the end of Spartacus: Blood and Sand leading into the uprising of the gladiator slaves.
For those who have never seen the show is truly missing out as it was one of the best shows on TV. The series follows the obscure early life leading up to the beginning of historical records regarding Spartacus’s life. Filled with intriguing stories, bloody action and gore, and filled to the brim with sex and nudity, the show pushes the limits in every episode making it not only one of the best shows, but also the most unique.
With the delay of the second season, they did a prequel series titled Spartacus: Gods of the Arena that led into the events of the first season filling in some of the gaps, while satisfying the fans urge for more sex and blood.
The new season stars Liam McIntyre who steps in to fill the shoes for Andy Whitfield as well as most of the surviving characters from Blood and Sand, including Lucy Lawless, Peter Mensah, Manu Bennett, as well as some surprise returns, this season promises to bring the pain more than ever. The only question on everyone’s mind right now is can Liam carry the part with the heart and soul that Whitfield brought to the part.
Spartacus returns on January 27th on Starz.
