The gypsy girl’s mysterious young life offers few details, but the investigation is slowly revealing a bit more than what was first known about the child being called the “Blonde Angel” today. Little blonde, green eyed Maria was found during a raid in a gypsy compound last week and her light features prompted authorities to do a DNA test on the child, according to Fox News live on Monday, Oct 21. A new video surfaces of a little girl, believed to be the gypsy girl, adding more mystery today.
According to the Mirror U.K. today, much mystery surrounds this little girl, from her hair color to her real age. The girl’s DNA indicated that the man and woman calling themselves her parents are not her biological parents. Now authorities are trying to find out where this child come from. Her age is not known and she speaks very little Roma dialect the native language of the gypsies she was found with.
Authorities have found out they were using the little girl like a “dancing bear,” they had her dance for money on the streets. A home video has surfaced and it is believed to have the same little girl, but when she was younger, dancing for a gypsy woman. Her hair is darker in this video, giving fuel to the speculation that the gypsies died her hair to help protect her identity. While her hair is very blonde today, the tips of her hair are reddish-brown in color.
The child, who is said to be four-years-old by the people who claim to be her parents, may be a few years older suspect authorities today. The testing that the child is undergoing should be able to tell her approximate age.
The age difference, even if just a few years off from what the people who had Maria report, could make a big difference in finding her real parents. If someone was missing a child who would be six today, the reports that this child is four would rule-out the possibility that this little girl could be their missing daughter.
No one has come forth so far to claim the “Blonde Angel” as their child. If the age changes, this may also change. Maria was found in a Roma settlement which authorities were raiding for drugs. The little girl with the features of blonde hair and green eyes, making her stand out from all the other gypsies, was hidden under a blanket when authorities came into the home where she was living.
When DNA testing proved the child was not the biological child of the people she believed to be her parents, the couple was arrested for abduction. After five very different stories of how Maria came to live with this couple, they settled on the story that a Romanian woman, who is Maria’s mother, gave her to them. There are no legal papers for this child’s adoption, birth or anything else.
The parents were found to have as many as 14 kids registered to them, with six of the kids registered as being born in the last 10 months. This allowed them to collect a hefty sum of $3,800 in child benefits from the Greek government. This is one very big reason that police believe gypsies abduct children.
Hopefully the tests will determine her correct age and this will help with finding the family she belongs to.
