One of the things about blogging is that most of what is written comes from the experiences from a person's life or what they hold in their hands. When a person blogs about a topic it's normally about a product, somewhere they have been, something they have seen or worn. There are even medical experiences that are blogged about from many that are wanting to let others know of the things that they have been through.
Blogs are not just a common person, it's someone with a bit of experience or knowledge behind what they are writing.
Many bloggers are about reviews and giveaways. These bloggers are not there to tell you about a product that they have not tried or had experience with. Many companies contact the bloggers for doing a product review. There are also blogs that will contact companies to do reviews for them.
Companies want to work with bloggers as it's cheaper to get the word out than to pay for advertising. When a blogger does a review, that product is promoted to thousands around the internet for just a small fee for shipping and the item.
You'll find that some bloggers ask for payment or the item, some ask for both. Many times, they only ask for payment if the product is electronically or a company review. Sometimes these payments, in order to review a company, a gift card to use to purchase through the site of an item that they choose. When the item arrives, they evaluate the product, the ease of checkout, etc and then write the review.
